This session will focus on Metro’s recent two-year pilot testing strategies for shifting event trips to transit. Metro’s surveys indicated demand for reliable non commute travel options and the TDM team developed a pilot Event Support Strategy to test whether targeted incentives and trip tools could shift event travel away from drive alone trips and lead to longer-term behavior change. These strategies were piloted in partnership with event venues and organizers as well as regional attractions. This session will share data and lessons learned from these pilots, and how focusing on the events space could be adopted by other agencies and many sectors such as hospitality and healthcare.
