Rural transportation conversations often focus on geography, infrastructure, and funding. Less frequently discussed is how mobility systems can be designed to meet the needs of the Latino and immigrant workers and families who are critical to rural economies.
This session introduces a nonprofit-led framework for thinking about mobility equity through the lens of community, workforce access, and economic participation. Participants will explore how organizations can move beyond traditional outreach to build authentic partnerships, incorporate cultural responsiveness, and ensure mobility investments are informed by the experiences of those who often face the greatest transportation barriers.
Rather than presenting a completed model, this session invites dialogue around how nonprofits, local governments, and mobility providers can create more inclusive planning processes and equitable transportation outcomes.
