Community Transit received a Regional Mobility Grant to engage small and medium-sized businesses with commute trip reduction strategies and resources. Our Small Business Partnerships program offered qualifying Snohomish County employers with the opportunity to offer employees ORCA cards loaded with free, unlimited transit trips for employees to get around the region.
We met restaurant owners who were eager for a way to support their employees that relied on transit. We helped hotel managers offer their employees a new and affordable way to get to work and back. We connected with HR managers who wanted to leverage transit access as part of their employee benefits package. We may be able to touch less employees at smaller worksites, but this program shows that we can have more intentional conversations and meaningful influence in smaller group settings.
This session will cover the journey of the program from its design to the lessons learned while conducting door-to-door business outreach, hosting in-person employee orientations, and building relationships with hard-to-reach audiences.
