This session will blend an ETC's perspective on building a CTR program and gathering survey data with an analyst's perspective of how that survey data can be used. The first part of the session will be a set of lessons learned in rebuilding a CTR program from dormant (and out of compliance!) to one that not only checks the boxes, but furthers organization sustainability and employee wellness goals. The focus will be on how the University of Puget Sound's ETC evaluated organizational culture, goals, and constraints, and developed strategies for engagement that both satisfy state CTR requirements and are a value-add to campus life. In the second half, WSDOT data analysts will highlight different ways to understand and communicate CTR data. This presentation combines sample data from two survey cycles with worksite program data to summarize commuter behavior and explore relationships between local amenities and drive-alone rates (DAR). We will also ask attendees to share their CTR information needs so WSDOT can develop consistent, meaningful data reports for ETCs and Implementers.
